covered in fake blood and still singing along.\

It’s amazing what music can do to you.

Just seeing a bunch of kids at a concert completely turn on once a band starts playing – that’s what’s amazing. And feeling it yourself – that sound resonating all around the room and going through your body and making you move in all sorts of ways that probably make you look kind of stupid – that’s what’s amazing.

I saw Reggie and the Full Effect play their last show ever tonight and the Theater of the Living Arts. I am so glad I got to experience such a thing. James (the lead singer) came out wearing Kiss make up and after the first song he put on a blonde wig and tore off his shirt to reveal a tiny Hannah Montana t-shirt (he sported some matching sweats as well). He then went on a rant while pretending to be Hannah Montana. It was excellent. I could go into all the other details but I am waaay too tired. I will say though, that by the end of the show I had fake blood all over me thanks to a man in Star Wars makeup. It was damn sexy if I do say so myself. Great time indeed.

I’m just really glad it was so fun tonight. I’m speaking in my happy/tired/post-show-delirium state right now so forgive my mushiness. It’s just great to be around great music and great people (Sterling was a good sport and came along-he really enjoyed it though.)

Wish I could say more but I really need to go to bed folks - -

and so it begins

So I’m still very new at the whole college thing. The work hasn’t TOTALLY gotten to me yet – school work has always kind of been my thing – it’s more of a change of relationship thing I am seeing happening. For one thing, the relationship I have with my parents is SO off the wall. I am used to talking to them all of the time and them knowing what I am doing (usually). Now when I talk to them it’s like they’re practically strangers. We have these pseudo-conversations that seem to go completely nowhere. Additionally, I feel all this pressure to tell them great things about my college experience because I know they miss me and, well, they are helping me pay to be here. Oh well. I guess it is just the course of things.

The relationships with some of my favorite people back home are a little unsettling too. I mean I spilled my guys out to my best friend on the phone the other day and I got detached “mmhmm’s” and “I don’t know’s”. And then of course, there is that boy that everyone leaves behind. I mean, our text-message relationship has left us at friendship status I suppose. Then he drops in to my dorm and throws me in for a mini-loop.

It seems so trivial to go on about things like friends and boys but hey- that’s all I’ve got. As far as the people here go – they’re awesome! I have met all sorts of great people. One thing I found odd though, is that even though Temple has been rated the “most diverse campus in the country”, the majority of the people I have met are from Pennsylvania. I have- on more than one occasion- found myself in a room full of people who are ALL from this state(minus me of course). Not that I have a problem with you Pennsylvanians.

I would like to explore the city a little more too...
